Rooster Super South Topper Traveller at Poole Yacht Club. This event is for South East, Southern & South West Region)
Super South Topper Traveller 5th & 6th June – Poole YC
Covid Restrictions mean we have max number limit of 60 boats. Please sign up as soon as possible to help us with event planning and to avoid disappointment.
Please familiarise yourself with the NOR & SIs ahead of the event.
*** CAR PARKING – please read ***
Car parking is always an issue at Poole Yacht Club. Space will be made available for trailers and trolleys at the weekend, but we cannot offer car parking on site to non-members. Sorry! As we are next to the Ferry Port, there is no road-side parking outside the club. The Poole Harbour Commissioner’s car park is just the other side of the Ferry terminal and we have negotiated a discounted parking fee of £13 for the weekend plus £5 refundable deposit for the entry swipe card that can be collected upon departure from PYC with your trailers.
There is charged parking in town or in Hamworthy Park if you prefer not to make use of the PHC car park.
Please sign up to the event and purchase the correct number of car parking spaces for your requirements. If you are bringing two or three sailors, you obviously only need to sign up to one event registration with car parking.
Event Information
Full event information including registration, tally etc will be provided closer to the event. Please sign up to the official event WhatsApp group on https://chat.whatsapp.com/KrzlZvRHcSM35ePa79m7EG
Covid Restrictions
The Club house bar and catering will be open all weekend but please bear in mind that the Covid restriction rule of 6 or 2 households exists indoors and a maximum of 30 people can gather together outside. The wearing of face masks inside the clubhouse is mandatory unless seated at a table. Sailors are encouraged to wear buffs (can be worn on wrists if hot weather) at all times should they need to enter the building or if they need safety boat assistance on the water.
Sail Numbers
Please make sure sails are correctly numbered and white ITCA champ numbers used match the allocated sailor. Any sailors without ITCA champ numbers will need to ensure their sail number is unique or add an allocated number. Championship numbers are issued free with ITCA membership. To confirm you Championship number contact Kathryn Deaton - [email protected]
Safety: Recovery and Towing - Class Rules
Please ensure you have correctly provisioned the bow line (painter) so that it terminates in a loop that reaches the main sheet block and is secure by tucking a bite of it under the elastic / bungy around the mast. i.e. in a manner that permits its immediate use for towing. It shall not be stowed by passing it around the mast.
Volunteers
Poole YC will fulfil the majority of the on and off water official water support positions, but we may still need your help. Particularly if you have a Safety Boat qualification or would like to assist as safety boat crew, provide first aid support or assist with launching / stacking trolleys. Details of what positions we need help with will be provided via the WhatsApp link nearer the date. If you are able to help, please email [email protected] to volunteer.
